Calandrina spectabilis provides an absolute spectacular display of purple flowers!

Interesting info:

- flowers from Spring onwards (up to 9 months of the year!)
- grows up to about 30cm tall, even though the flowers are borne on longer stalks
- foliage is an interesting green-grey, providing a different colour and texture to your garden even in the few months it doesn’t flower
- very easy to grow
- great in any water-wise and rock gardens
- good in pots
- can be used as cut flowers

Remember that they need good drainage, and does well if you cut them back in winter. Also keep an eye out for snails.

One of our best sellers and favourites - a real eye catcher!

If you are somehow not convinced by the spectacular display that they provide, maybe this long list of attributes can help explain the advantages they will have in a garden:

• water-wise and hardy, wind resistant and tolerant of coastal conditions
• low maintenance and very easy to grow
• invaluable groundcovers (particularly in dry gardens) and great for covering up dry open spaces
• indigenous (we LOVE indigenous) and they attract bees, butterflies and other insects to your garden
• ideal plants for containers, vertical gardens, hanging baskets and retaining walls
• suitable as indoor plants (as long as they have a warm sunny position close to a window)

All they ask is well drained soil with plenty of compost added, and occasional water in summer. The only thing Crassulas don't like is frost.
