TIP OF THE YEAR: TILING. Tiles are a substantial investment - financially and in your time - as the sourcing consumes an enormous amount of it - so when it comes to laying make sure you use the most experienced tilers in the trade - this is not the time to have the cost of the labor as the priority - you want the best person with the most experience with the correct training and the understanding of not only the installation but of the tile itself. It is likely that the tiles you lay will be there for many many years to come and for some it will be there for generations. So don’t skimp on quality to save yourself a few bucks. I have seen the most terrible workmanship in the most unexpected places. I have had to remove new installations due to shoddy workmanship where I am asked to join a project when the client no longer can manage the situation - and in some cases it’s only been recently completed.
