Wholesale nursery open to the public

New Horizen Farm-Nursery is a well established brand in the Western Cape, offering quality plants at competitive prices. A wholesale production plant nursery situated +/- 40km outside of Cape Town, +/- 12km before Malmesbury in the Groenerivier area. New Horizen Nursery is an eco-friendly and sustainable farm-like haven where the nursery and the natural landscape work in symbiosis with each other. The nursery has been in operation for 19 years and under the current ownership for over 14 years. The nursery supplies the retail and landscaping sectors and undertakes contract growing for specific projects. New Horizen is proud to have been involved in puristic environmental projects, for example, the rehabilitation of the Lourens River Flood Alleviation (Somerset West), Cogmanskloof (between Ashton and Montagu), The Red Data Flora Wetland Rehabilitation, the N7 and Bellville Waste Plant. With these types of contracts, their horticulturalists undertake a ‘search and rescue’ exercise to procure and save as much of the endemic plants as possible. The propagation of these plants by highly trained horticulturalists ensures that the endemic plant species, including red data list plant species, are returned to their natural habitats. New Horizen Nursery includes hydro-seeding as one of the services on offer. The company uses a state of the art hydro-seeder for seeding, watering and fertilising, landfill covering, reclamation and coastal work. Unavailable plants are grown to the contract specifications for large landscape and construction contracts, these include Cape Town Stadium and surrounds, and the Integrated Rapid Transit (IRT) contracts.
