This project was completed on a prestigious estate in the Cape Winelands during 2023.

FANG™ had the privilege to be invited to the HomeSec Expo event hosted by Centurion Systems Friday past at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg.

FANG Marketing Department reminisced this past week while going through our legacy items when we came across this letter.

The good old days when a letter was sent via postal services, and in the early nineties via fax machine.

This letter dated 15 August 1991, the then General Manager of Gallagher, Mr. Steve L Aldridge wrote to Mr. John W Swart (currently our Chairman of the Board), after his visit to South Africa and our factory.

Please take time to read it, it does not only say great things about our company, but it also says a lot about how gentlemen treated each other in business in those days.

Hereby hoping a younger generation will read this and build on the foundations that were laid many years ago.

FANG is doing just that, stronger and better day by day.

Yesterday FANG™ attended a great event hosted by Gallagher at the beautiful 360° Bloemendal Wine Estate in Cape Town, where we gained valuable insights, not only from Gallagher, but also from renowned industry experts, such as Kenai, Milestone Systems, Idemia, Hanwha Group, and Traka Assa Abloy.

Pictured with some of our staff is Roxanne Norman Agliotti that joined the Gallagher team earlier this year. Roxanne is Cape Town based, and immediately started to add value as Business Development Manager for Gallagher in our region.

LPR cameras are advanced traffic sensors used to capture and digitalize images from license plates.

License Plate Recognition (LPR), also known as Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), is an effective method used for combatting crime because it is a pro-active way of receiving real time alerts of vehicles entering an area that has been listed as stolen or used in a crime.

Real-time equates to 20 milliseconds or less captured by the camera, with a very high precision rate of 99% or more. The captured data is then sent via the chosen network to the off-site control room where the operators then contact the relevant authorities to inform regarding the suspicious vehicle.
