UPPER GARDENS: STOPPED BEFORE A CRIME COULD HAPPEN!

In this video, a suspicious individual was observed moving through the Upper Gardens area looking into parked motor vehicles.

Card Scamsters Picked the Wrong Building

We have all heard about the scam targeting tourists, where suspects approach people walking in the area and claim they need a “permit” to walk on a particular road.

In this incident, the scammers tried exactly that, but picked the wrong building.

Our smart AI CCTV detection system immediately picked up the suspicious behaviour. Our operators issued an audio warning and dispatched a full response straight away.

GREEN POINT ARREST: FROM DETECTION TO DETAINED

Our Smart Detection AI picked up a suspect forcing open a fence and entering a property in Green Point.

Crime Prevented in Green Point.

The WatchTower Group control room received an alert via Smart Detection Analytics of two suspicious individuals attempting to open a trailer parked in front of a premises in Green Point.

Our operator immediately verified the activity and issued a live audio announcement, disrupting the suspects in real time.

Simultaneously, SRG Armed Response was dispatched to the scene to investigate. With live updates from the control room tracking the suspects’ movements, response teams were guided directly to their location.

The suspects were stopped on scene and handed over to South African Police Service for profiling.

FROM ALERT TO ARREST – TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION

Over the long weekend, our control room received a smart detection alert indicating a fight outside a client’s property on Main Road, Sea Point. As the controller began actioning the alert, it became clear this was not just a disturbance, but a struggle, and one of the women was being robbed of her cellphone.

Our operators immediately activated the Atlantic Seaboard Response Group, alerting all service providers in real time. At the same time, a community member shared the incident on a neighbourhood watch group as the suspect fled into nearby side streets.

Although the suspect initially evaded capture, WatchTower distributed clear images of the individual, including clothing details. Just a few hours later, SRG Security spotted and stopped the suspect, who was still in possession of the stolen phone, and he was subsequently arrested by Sea Point SAPS.

“On a daily basis, our camera technology is helping turn the tide on crime and ensuring criminals are held accountable,” says Jacques Weber. “This particular client had only joined our service a few weeks ago, and already the value is clear.”
