Kicking off 2026 in the best way possible, the team have just wrapped up the construction phase of a home cinema in Pearl Valley Golf Estate just outside Cape Town.
We have been given permission by the client to film the process, so there is a timelapse of the construction.
Once we have finished the fabric work, we will film the final details... So expect a video of this project around mid-year.

In the mean-time, some high-level specifications:
The room is 8.8m deep x 4m wide x 3m high
Anthem MRX 1140 AVR
7.1.4 Ascendo Immersive Audio GmbH speaker package with 2 x SVS SB3000 subwoofers
Epson LS12000 projector
130" acoustically transparent screen in 16:9 aspect ratio
Control4 remote to simplify control of the room

While on his recent trip to the UK, Morgan was invited out to the L-Acoustics HYRISS showroom by Nick Fichte.
Nick purposefully kept his communication and introduction to HYRISS to a minimum and Morgan decided to investigate it as little as possible so that the experience would be a complete surprise... and what a surprise it was.

In the video below Morgan has mentioned that he would definitely need to revisit the HYRISS showroom to better convey his thoughts and experience in the room. Now that we have published this video, just over 3 months since it was filmed, that is still true.

L-Acoustics have thoughtfully and carefully developed an incredible immersive space, unlike anything experienced before.

We are incredibly grateful to Mehmet for inviting Morgan out to the Ultimate Home Cinema showroom in the UK.

This is an incredible demonstration of the capabilities of Dolby Atmos in a residential home cinema environment. What is particularly notable of the demonstration room is the spacial resolution due to the amount of speakers used in this home cinema room. Providing detailed surround sound playback.

Extensive time and effort has been put into the Trinnov Audio calibration in this room, including WaveForming. It is clear to see once again that the Trinnov surround sound processors are incredibly powerful in their ability to accurately playback the surround sound effects as the movie director intended.

It was great to be able to experience the Procella speakers in this room. Having had minimal exposure to them previously, this is really a great showcase of this amazing speaker company.

Of course from a video playback perspective, the JVC NZ900 provided incredible visuals, supported by the excellent MadVR video processor.
