Instead of poison...
🐌 SNAILS IN YOUR GARDEN 🐌
There is nothing so bad for a gardener as watching the snails consume your little plants. Especially at the beginning of spring, when you so crave to plant flowers and vegetables after the cold of winter, and overnight, everything gets eaten up.
That is when the snail poison is removed from the shelves of shops and even before the soil can wake up from its winter sleep, it is again bombarded with toxins. Yes, it's going to kill the snails, but it's also gassing your aerobic organisms in the ground. It is exactly those soil organisms that need to feed your plants in the early spring. Just that one small act of putting down poison can put your entire garden's growth force back and slow it down until late summer. And yes, the snails are coming back. Why??
My father was a farmer who always warned me to listen to nature's messages. And the snails in your garden have a message. That message is that your soil, deeper than 10 cm deep, is anaerobic (oxygen-free) and that the anaerobic Klebsiella bacteria are secreting alcohol gases deeper into your soil. And it attracts the snails because this garden pest is, of course, a breed of pest that is an alcoholic. Of course, those gases under your plant's root system can also infect your plant's roots with fungal diseases.
Now, what if the alcoholic in my garden sends me a message, but I kill him with poison? Well, then you become a hard-of-hearing gardener, who does not want to listen to nature. And nature will fight you until all your plants are destroyed and eaten up.
The long-term answer for your plants is to get the soil organism system aerobic again. That compaction layer deeper in your soil needs to be broken. And it is broken with the repeated placement of aerobic organisms in your soil. Push the fork into your ground, moving the fork back and forth to make thin oxygen chimneys in the soil, without digging the ground around.
Now pour aerobic compost extract over the soil and repeat several times over the next 2 weeks. This will let in the oxygen and the aerobic organisms in your compost extract will eat away at the compaction layer. The alcoholic in your garden will then visit another tavern in your neighbour's garden. And you can enjoy your beautiful flowers and vegetables in peace and quiet.
