Away with this dictatorship, Chivayo must just setup a new 🎙️ studio with this guys and say goodies to the late. Vana vanoda kudya. Mari yauya yakarohwa nechando iyoo.
: Zimpapers has ordered its employees to return gifts received from businessman Wicknell Chivayo during a recent appearance on Capitalk FM, with presenter Phathisani Sibanda reportedly told to reject a vehicle offer or resign immediately. Chivayo handed out US$30,000 cash for “lunch” to be shared among 30 staff members in the radio division and also offered to replace Sibanda’s Toyota Aqua with a 2025 Toyota GD6 during a studio interview on May 5, 2026.
Under a Zimpapers gifts policy introduced in 2024, employees are barred from accepting gifts worth more than US$100 and all gifts must be declared to the company. Each of the 30 workers will be allowed to keep US$100, while the remaining US$27,000 is expected to be returned to Chivayo. The policy was introduced after Chivayo previously donated a Toyota Aqua to Sibanda in 2024 when he was still an independent contractor. Sibanda became a full-time Zimpapers employee in January this year. A company executive who declined to be named said the policy was meant to “maintain editorial standards” and “remove any appearance of bribery.” Zimpapers insiders also said the company suggested the remaining US$27,000 could instead be donated to the company for the purchase of vehicles for general staff use.
