Water sitting in the crown = danger ⚠️

This can lead to crown rot — one of the quickest ways to lose a cymbidium.

Water trapped in the centre of the plant creates the perfect conditions for rot to develop.

How to prevent it:
• Water early in the day
• Avoid water pooling in the centre (crown) of the plant

Good airflow and proper watering habits make all the difference.

A small detail — but a very important one 🌱

✨ Orchids, but make it a bouquet! ✨

Cymbidium orchids make the most beautiful cut-flower arrangements — and just look at those rich autumn tones! 🍊🤎💚

From deep burgundy and fiery orange to fresh lime green, we love how beautifully these colours come together. 🌿

A little piece of cymbidium magic, ready to brighten someone’s day. 💐

Flowers finished? Don’t worry — this is normal 🌿

Here’s what to do next:

✂️ Cut the spike
→ Once flowers are fully done, cut the spike at the base

🌱 Focus on growth
→ This is when the plant builds strength for next season

💧 Keep watering & feeding
→ Healthy bulbs now = better blooms later

☀️ Give good light
→ Outdoor, bright conditions are ideal

💡 Cymbidiums bloom once a year — the rest of the time they’re preparing for the next show.

There are moments on the farm that stop us in our tracks.

Rows upon rows of Cymbidiums in full bloom, stretching as far as the eye can see. It’s a reminder of why we do what we do and just how incredible nature can be.

Every flowering season is the result of years of patience, careful growing and a whole lot of love.

Seeing the greenhouses come alive like this never gets old.

Cymbidiums are heavy feeders — but timing matters 🌿

We use Starke Ayres Growing & Flowering Orchid Food depending on the season:

🌱 Growing phase
Use Growing Orchid Food
→ Supports strong leaves and bigger pseudobulbs

🌸 Flowering phase
Switch to Flowering Orchid Food
→ Encourages spike and bud development

💡 Feed every 2 weeks during active growth
💡 Always dilute according to instructions

Healthy growth = better blooms next season.

More plants? Always the right answer. 🌿☀️

There’s something special about a home filled with living things. A flowering orchid on the table, a leafy plant in the corner, fresh blooms by the window… they don’t just decorate a space—they make it feel alive.

So if you’re wondering whether you need another plant… we think you already know the answer. 😉

What’s the newest addition to your plant collection? We’d love to hear!

🌱 The biggest fertilising mistake? It’s not the fertiliser… it’s the dosage.

More isn’t better when it comes to orchids.

Over-fertilising can lead to salt build-up around the roots, causing root burn and making it harder for your orchid to absorb water and nutrients.

That’s why we always:
✔️ Measure accurately
✔️ Follow the recommended dilution on the packaging
✔️ Feed little and often, rather than making the solution stronger

We also switch between Growing Orchid Food 🌱 and Flowering Orchid Food 🌸 depending on what the plant is doing:
• Growing Orchid Food – for plants producing new leaves and pseudobulbs.
• Flowering Orchid Food – when flower spikes begin to develop and during the flowering season.

Healthy roots = healthy plants = beautiful blooms.
