A little glimpse into the last 2 years of making... jeans that tell stories, cushions with soul, bags built for real life (and soon the court!), all stitched by hand from reclaimed fabrics right here in the Karoo.
Many of you know I've always loved textiles and creating — even when life took me elsewhere. Over the past couple of years that quiet passion came roaring back, and out of it Zen Zef was born under XX Clothing Renovations.
Zen Zef is about calm + raw energy: Zen for the intentional, useful beauty... Zef for the eclectic, unapologetic textures of reclaimed denim, canvas, upholstery scraps and more. Everything is small-batch, one-of-one, handmade with care — often with women from De Rust and Blomnek who are gaining skills, pride, and a sense of purpose through their hands.
These pieces aren't perfect factory things; they're slow, considered, full of character and history in every patch and seam. From patched-up denim jeans with attitude, to cozy patchwork cushions that bring warmth to any space, to sturdy totes and soon our signature padel bags with the Halo pocket... it's all about usefulness wrapped in uniqueness.
