The Norman Bakos story is one that achieved just that. The first store was opened in Rissik Street, Johannesburg, in 1971. The brothers’ dynamic vision and entrepreneurial flair led them to express their unmatched passion for elegant living and exquisite service.

The launch of television in South Africa provided them with an unmatched opportunity and, within a short time, the company had become South Africa’s top TV retailer. From that auspicious start, the group grew from strength to strength - and Norman Bakos became a household name. It was their legendary quality and refined service that led them to expand their business well beyond the county’s commercial capital and into Africa.
