NOTICE OF PLANNED ESKOM POWER OUTAGE :

Stanford and Gansbaai areas
on 4 June 2026

Eskom has advised that essential maintenance work will be undertaken at the Hermanus Substation on Thursday, 4 June 2026. The work involves the replacement of 66kV breakers and will require a planned power outage affecting customers supplied by both the Overstrand Municipality and Eskom in the Stanford and Greater Gansbaai areas.

The outage will take place from 08:00 to 18:30.

Areas affected :
- Stanford and surrounding farms (including Eskom direct customers)
- Greater Gansbaai area, including De Kelders, Perlemoenbaai, Gansbaai , Masakhane, Blompark, Industrial Area, Kleinbaai, Birkenhead, Franskraal, Uilenkraalsmond, Pearly Beach and surrounding farms, Baardskeerdersbos and surrounding Eskom direct customers as well as Eskom farm lines.

Some of the affected areas are among those that experienced electricity supply interruptions following the severe storms earlier in May.

The Greater Hermanus, Hangklip-Kleinmond area will not be affected by this planned outage.

Great teamwork and a successful outcome!

The owner of a farm in Franskraal contacted us on Friday morning to report that two men were stealing his fence posts.

2 of our officers, Andile and Foto responded immediately and managed to apprehend the suspects on the property. The police were called to the scene and took the individuals into custody.

The client was extremely pleased with the quick response and positive result.

Well done to everyone involved for their vigilance and professionalism.

Thieves caught!

On Friday 29th May
our response officers apprehended 2 thieves who had stolen fence poles from Kamba Farm Franskraal.

2 persons arrested and the stolen property was returned to the grateful owner.

Our security officer, Stuurman, noticed a suspicious man carrying a wallet. When questioned, the suspect fled.

With backup from Officer Delekile, Stuurman quickly caught and detained him. The wallet had been stolen from a Secma client’s vehicle earlier.

The wallet was returned to its owner, and SAPS assisted with the arrest.

A big well done to our security officers for their excellent work.

Yesterday, two suspects were caught while attempting to rob a house in the area. Our officers responded quickly and managed to intercept them. During the confrontation the suspects became aggressive and even attempted to stab the officers, but thanks to their quick thinking and teamwork the situation was brought under control and both suspects were successfully apprehended without any injuries.

SAPS later confirmed that these suspects have been linked to multiple house burglaries and have been wanted for several months, making this arrest a significant one.

We are incredibly proud of Sihle, Fiko and Stuurman for the dedication, courage and professionalism our officers showed in handling such a dangerous situation.
