🌳 Party dinge kan jy nie sommer weer koop nie.
Na hierdie reën gaan daar weer baie takke lê.
Daar gaan bome skeef staan.
En baie mense se eerste gedagte gaan wees:
“Ons sal hom seker maar moet afkap.”

Maar wag net ’n oomblik.

Daardie boom was dalk daar toe julle ingetrek het.
Hy het dalk somers koeler gemaak.
Hy was dalk die plek waar kinders gespeel het, waar honde in die skaduwee gelê het, waar familie saam gekuier het...

’n Boom raak stil-stil deel van ’n huis.
En voor iets wat jare geneem het om te groei in ’n paar minute verdwyn…

Laat ons eers kyk.

Nie elke beskadigde boom is ’n verlore boom nie.

In 2 days, when the storm is over, before the chainsaws start, take a moment...
Some things are worth saving.

The tree that took years to grow deserves more than a five-minute decision.

After a storm, the first thought is often:
“Cut it down.”

But sometimes that tree still has life left.

The shade it gave.The corner of the garden it completed.The memories made around it.

Where possible, we don’t just remove trees.

Not the flower bed, either.

The edge.

Most people stopped sitting outside years ago...
They just haven’t admitted it yet.

The chairs are still there. The paving is still there. But nobody actually stays.

No slow coffee outside. No firelight conversations.
No evenings that stretch longer than they should.
