PUBLIC NOTICE: ROAD MAINTENANCE AT THE LANDFILL
Issued by George Municipality, 10 June 2026

Please be advised that due to excessive mud at the landfill, repair work is currently being carried out on the internal road.

Landfill users may experience delays and restricted access in certain areas while these repairs are underway.

We kindly request all users to exercise patience and proceed with caution when using the facility.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.

Public Notice: Temporary Closure of Landfill Site
Issued by George Municipality, 09 June 2026

Please be advised that the landfill site is temporarily closed this morning for operational and safety reasons.

Due to limited disposal space, the current unavailability of the bulldozer, and extremely muddy road conditions causing vehicles to become stuck, it is not safe or practical to continue operations at this time.

The bulldozer is currently en route, and once on site, work will be carried out to improve access conditions and create additional disposal space.

The site is expected to reopen at 13:00 today.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank the public for their patience, understanding, and cooperation.
