⚠️ Community Safety Alert ⚠️

We received an SOS call today involving a robbery.

A man was approached by a woman asking for a lift at Capitec, Shoprite centre. He refused, as he was driving a company vehicle. The woman then forced herself into the vehicle while he continued telling her he could not assist. Shortly after, three more women entered the vehicle and demanded between R12 000 and R13 000.

The victim explained that he only had R800, which he handed over. The suspects also attempted to take his phones and car keys.

Two additional men then approached the vehicle, after which the women exited. Our reaction officer arrived on scene, made contact with the victim, and approached the two men, who then fled the area.

Please be careful, keep your doors and windows locked, and remain vigilant at all times. If you notice anything suspicious, report it immediately.
