HELLO NOVEMBER // As we step into the second last month of 2026, we cannot help but look back at the year so far.

So many wonderful projects. So many moments. So many clients who trusted us with their spaces. And plenty of lessons, laughs, samples, site visits and very full inboxes along the way.

Now we lock in for the final two months. We are finishing up projects, working with clients on plans for 2027 and already looking ahead to what the new year has in store.

So, how does your email find us?

A little overwhelmed. Very busy. Slightly wondering how it is already November. But mostly, incredibly thankful.

Thankful for this small business, for the work that keeps coming through the door and for the amazing clients who continue to choose LIVING Studio.

Here we go, November. We are ready for you.

METHOD IN OUR MADNESS // Scroll through our camera rolls and you will notice a recurring design feature in our behind the scenes photographs.

OUR SHOES.

Bathrooms in progress, site visits, workshop check ins and quick snaps of materials. Somehow, our feet always make it into the frame.

This is exactly why it is ESSENTIAL that we own the cutest shoes. If they are going to be photographed, they need to complement the picture. It is simply good design.

We are not saying cute shoes are a necessary business expense. We are just saying we have prepared a very strong case for our, very strict accountant.

FRIDAY FAVOURITE // Luscious Velvet

Velvet knows how to make a colour work harder.

Think sofas, armchairs and bar stools for those ready to make an impact. If you are not quite ready to go that big, a few velvet scatter cushions are the perfect place to start.

The colour options are almost endless. From rich jewel tones and warm earthy shades to softer neutrals, velvet catches the light in a way that adds depth and makes even the simplest colour feel more striking.

Would you go big with a velvet sofa, or start small with the scatters?

IN OUR ELEMENT // It starts with our first meeting on site, where we listen, take in the space and begin to understand what you want from it.

Then we return to the Studio and dive into the planning.

Sourcing. Creating. Exploring palette options. Working through fabric selections. Designing furniture. Bringing every decision together into a proposal that gives the project direction.

This stage is filled with ideas, samples, sketches and plenty of excitement as we begin shaping everything we discussed on site into something you can see and feel.

The coolest part about it all? We get to do this for a living!

PEN AND PAPER GIRLS // Technology is cool. We use it every day, and yes, everything eventually finds its way into emails, folders and digital plans.

But when we are standing on site, taking measurements and working through ideas, there is honestly nothing better than putting pen to paper.

A quick outline of the room. Measurements written at every angle. Circles, arrows and notes that may only make sense to us.

It might not look particularly polished, but we know exactly what it means.

Digital later. Pen and paper first.

EVERY SPACE IS A MEETING ROOM // When a project is underway, every surface becomes counter space.

The floor. A half completed shelving unit. The basin. Sometimes we simply hold everything in midair while pointing, discussing and making decisions.

Site meetings rarely happen around a perfectly styled table. They happen between tools, dust, samples and furniture pieces that are still waiting to find their place.

This is where ideas are checked, problems are solved and plans start becoming something real.

We LOVE the behind the scenes chaos of a project slowly coming together.
One day, we are balancing everything on the nearest available surface.

Next, it is a completed space.

TRUST THE CHAOS // Boxes in every direction. Furniture standing in the wrong room. Art waiting against walls. Curtains being re-hooked. Packaging, ladders and tools wherever you look.

Installation day is not always pretty while it is happening.

It is busy, physical and slightly chaotic. Pieces are unpacked, moved, shifted, styled, restyled, fluffed and adjusted until every element lands exactly where it should.

This is the part that rarely makes it into the final photographs, but it is where everything starts coming together.

Right now, it looks like chaos. Give us a little time.

This is about to become something SENSATIONAL.

THE TRUSTY MEASURING TAPE // If there is not one in the caddy, there is one in the car. On each counter space at the Studio. There are also several more in the measuring bag. We are never far from a measuring tape.

Technology has introduced plenty of digital measuring options over the years, but we will still reach for this yellow beauty first.

Our favourite moment is when a client kindly asks if they can hold the other end for us. A little cheeky, perhaps, but nine times out of ten our answer is, “Thank you, but we have got this.”

Then watch us use a knee to pull out more tape. Watch us stretch across the room and somehow hold it perfectly still in midair. Measuring is an art, and we have had plenty of practice.

The most important rule?

Measure twice. Sometimes three times.

Confidence is good. Accuracy is better. TRIPLE CHECK YOURSELF.

HELLO OCTOBER // COFFEE AND CHAOS

October has arrived, and SILLY SEASON has officially entered LIVING Studio.

The fabric books are open, measurements are being triple checked, inboxes are full and the coffee is flowing. We are juggling site visits, installations, final orders and the growing list of things everyone would love completed before the end of the year.

Us: “Can we squeeze in just three more?”

The workshops: “No, LIVING Studio. The last three really were the last.”

We heard them. Mostly….

If new curtains, re-upholstered furnishings, custom scatter cushions or possibly even blinds are still on your 2026 list, now is the time to contact us. You could be one of the final few we manage to squeeze into production, depending on workshop availability.

Here is to an October filled with full calendars, exciting projects, plenty of caffeine (possibly some ch*****ne) and just the right amount of chaos.

Coffee can be refilled. 2026 production slots cannot.
