All are welcome to join us for a Tree Planting in memory of Charles Carr.

Charles was an integral part of the Conservancy and was Chairman right up until his passing in November 2023.
A remarkable man of integrity, intelligence & wit.
He is sorely missed.

If you knew him in any way, we'd love you to join us to celebrate his life!

Save these dates!

I have 2 vastly different shows coming up in March...

Firstly, a lovely, more low-key storytelling under the stars kind of thing - yes, Herman Charles Bosman's work! I've got some goodies up my sleevies.
This is going to be a Fundraiser for the Ivungu River Conservancy (my hometown greenies). So no entrance fee(!) - and those who are able and would like to donate - all moolah goes to keeping our beautiful areas green, invasive plant free, litter-free, signed etc... SUCH a worthy cause. It will be in the River Reserve off Edward Road. (I believe there will be a hearty Poitjie supper available fo those who want to book a supper - otherwise BYO...and a chair or a blanky to sit upon.)

Then, The Gentry and I are following up with our 3rd performance of JUST JOPLIN on he coast (our first 2 were sold out - so if you missed it - please DO book this time or even if you want to see it again!)
It's an absolute blast and a fine look at Janis's extraordinary life and music... and the boys are in showroom condition.
It will be at Southbroom Country Club and will be in a cool, supper theatre format - it includes supper.

More details on both shows to follow shortly. So looking forward to this lot!

Yes! It’s that time of year again - and we need you! It's time for Conservancy Members to update and pay a nominal annual subscription fee to the Ivungu River Conservancy.
We haven’t increased the cost and of course, we welcome any donations.
Our coffers are almost empty, so the timing of these subs has come along in the nick of time!
R50 per annum for individuals and R100 for families.

What does the Conservancy do:
We have a robust, ongoing alien maintenance programme along our beautiful Ivungu River. This entails spraying with a biochemical as well as the actual removal of aliens.
Bridges over the streams have been built, need to be maintained and litter is collected.
Signage: We’d like to do so much more in this regard. Tree identification labels and signage create a user-friendly and inviting picnic site and Reserve.
The Conservancy has also adopted Saints Walk, the shoreline pathway between St Michaels & Uvongo Beach, which is also part of the route for the popular Uvongo Parkrun. Here too, the conservancy has an ongoing maintenance programme to keep alien invasives at bay and the pathways in good order.
- Please see our attached Summary for a little history and further insight into the Conservancy.
- We have also attached our Members form in case you have changed your details or would like to spread the word to others who haven’t yet joined us.

Grateful thanks to all those who supported the Conservancy thus far – it is incredible how much we are capable of achieving if we pull together.
Please watch out for some entertaining, informative and interesting Fund Raisers planned for the near future!
Thanking you in advance.
