The Bokashi Bin/Bucket system is a practical and convenient alternative for transforming kitchen waste into a nutrient rich soil conditioner. This unique composting system uses the revolutionary EM (Effective Micro-Organism) Bokashi to create the ideal conditions for airtight (anaerobic) composting, eliminating the odours and unpleasantness associated with putrefaction and decaying organic matter.

There are many different versions of this system, all of which use the same EM to biodegrade kitchen waste into incredible compost you can use in your gardens.

The ultimate sustainable packaging! We need more of this!

Vendors in Asia have come up with alternative packaging to eliminate the use of plastics by using baskets made from coconut fronds & banana leaf packaging.

The baskets (made entirely out of coconut fronds) are locally called ‘Sulingkat’. The fruit & veg wrapped in banana leaves also make the agricultural produce last longer since they keep the moisture in while blocking the heat.

In Southeast Asia, more than 75% of the material value of recyclable plastic is lost.
With only 18 to 28% of recyclable plastic recovered & recycled, most plastic packaging waste pollutes the environment, according to studies by the World Bank Group.

Using coconut & banana leaves are a great alternative to plastic as the leaves are large, thick & supple enough to be folded. This method significantly reduces the amount of plastic required.

Hi Everybody,

It is that time of year to prep your earthworms for the cold months and planting veggies for winter.

It is a good time to prep to become more self sustaining, what with food prices and the cost of purchasing vegetables and growing your own.

Please contact me should you require any information and assistance.
