π¨ SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR ESTATE AGENTS DUE TO RECENT EVENTS π¨
Guys, we are living in very dangerous times. Please follow the safety tips below when conducting property viewings:
β
Do not leave laptops, cell phones, handbags, or any valuable items visible in the property or in your vehicle. Always lock your vehicle while on the property.
β
When showing a property, ensure that only one entrance is open. Keep all back doors, side entrances, and sliding doors closed and secured.
β
The main entrance gate to the property should never be left open under any circumstances.
β
If possible, allow only one viewing group at a time. During open houses this may be difficult, but where practical, ask the next viewers to wait a few minutes until the current viewing has concluded.
β
After the viewing, es**rt all visitors out of the property and ensure everyone leaves the premises before admitting the next group.
β
Always ask the property owner whether a panic button is available. Keep a remote panic button on you personally during the viewing whenever possible.
β
If there is no remote panic button, familiarise yourself with the location of fixed panic buttons within the property.
β
Keep the contact details of your local security company on speed dial.
β
During the viewing, try to keep all visitors together as a group. Avoid situations where people are wandering through different rooms unsupervised.
β
Before the viewing, ask the owner to remove or secure valuable items such as laptops, cell phones, jewellery, and cash. It is also advisable to do a quick walk-through yourself to identify any visible valuables.
β
Always remain aware of your surroundings and identify the quickest and safest exit route from the property in the event of an emergency.
Your safety comes first. Stay vigilant, trust your instincts, and never ignore suspicious behaviour.
