Nicholas Whitcutt Architects We are a small architectural company based in Melville, Johannesburg. Our projects range from residential, interior, commercial and sustainable design.

Above all, good architecture must reveal itself through experience of the end product without qualification or explanation. We believe that good design comes from a creative response to context in the broadest sense. We like to work closely with the client, the site, the contractor and building process, the budget, and the times. We trust that a careful response to these aspects will lead to a bui

Jocelyn, you were an inspiration, a comrade in arms, a voice of wisdom; so talented, professional level-headed, and also fun.

Thank you Jocelyn for giving me back the joy of rain in your brave and honest observations in your last months- taking it back from the architects' dread of leaks and damage and sometimes angry clients and elevating it back to its miraculous place in nature and life.

It's been a while. I defy any wits archi student not to get some visceral response to these fragments that I chose in the spaces we all worked so damn hard and felt the full spectrum of all emotions as we did that brutal right of passage that all architecture students endure!
