Quick-Thinking Response Prevents Major Fire Damage in Pringle Bay Home

Pringle Bay, 8 June 2025 — A potential house fire was swiftly brought under control in Pringle Bay on Sunday evening thanks to the rapid response of local security and emergency teams.

A resident noticed the smell of smoke inside their home and immediately contacted Fidelity ADT. Response officer Mabandla Qolo, stationed in Pringle Bay with a dedicated vehicle, was first on the scene. He was soon joined by a response officer from Vetus Schola.

Smoke was found rising from the floorboards between the upper and lower levels of the house. Without hesitation, Officer Qolo grabbed the fire extinguisher from his vehicle and worked to contain the smoke while awaiting further assistance.

In the meantime, the Fidelity ADT control room in Kleinmond (formerly ASK Security) had already dispatched the Pringle Bay Volunteer Firefighters, who arrived shortly after and ensured the fire was fully extinguished before it could spread. No injuries were reported, and damage to the home was minimal thanks to the quick and coordinated efforts of all involved.

Wayne Kruger, Community Operations Manager at Fidelity ADT, praised the teamwork and highlighted Officer Qolo’s actions:
“We’re especially proud of Mabandla, whose motivation and dedication truly reflect the spirit of service. His actions are a testament to the commitment that continues beyond any uniform or brand. We are honoured to have him as part of the Fidelity ADT family.”

The incident is a reminder of the critical role that well-coordinated local security and emergency services play in protecting communities.

FIDELITY-ADT KLEINMOND NABS A SECOND THIEF!

A very alert CCTV operator noticed in the early morning hours of Friday 16/05/2025 at approximately 5am, a suspicious person pushing a trolley on the corner of Botriver Road and 9th Street in Kleinmond.

The suspect was monitored on the cameras placing bags inside the trolley as well as placing bags under the camera pole. The Fidelity-ADT response vehicle was dispatched to investigate and upon arrival it was determined that the suspect had wood inside the trolley and several large bags of charcoal. The Kleinmond Police were contacted and the suspect was taken to the police station. It was later verified that the suspect in fact jumped over the wall at Spar Shopping Center and had stolen the bags of charcoal off the property. A case of theft was opened at the police station.

We would thank our very own Fidelity-ADT officer, Donovan Jacobs for a quick response which led to a successful arrest.

IRON POT THIEF GETS CAUGHT!

A Fidelity-ADT client in 5th Avenue, Kleinmond contacted our local Kleinmond Control Room on Thursday 15/05/2025 to report a theft that occurred a few minutes prior to the call.

In a joint effort by Fidelity-ADT and a Kleinmond Police vehicle, a search for the suspect ensued and it was not long before he was spotted on the Kleinmond Rugby field where he ditched the iron pot that he stole. The man was eventually caught after a short chase in Skool Street and he was arrested. The man was found to be in possession of Abalone on his person. After the suspect was taken to the Kleinmond Police station for processing, it was verified that the man was a well-known criminal and that he was sought by the Police to appear in the Regional Court.

We would like to congratulate our very own Fidelity-ADT Armed Response Officer, Elzino Arendse for a great arrest. It is great to know that after the acquisition of ASK Security by Fidelity-ADT, that we can still count on the same service delivery to our communities by the very same local people that have always gone that extra mile. Hi there

Moms are being celebrated on 11 May and this day should be used as an opportunity to honour the many women that have played a mothering role in our lives. One way of doing it, is by focussing on their safety and security and offering them the best protection possible.
They should also be recognised for the important role they play in society and especially in the lives of their own children. Keeping children out of harm’s way is but one of the many responsibilities of mothers, but in today’s world probably the most important.

We urge families to keep personal safety top of mind this Mother’s Day, whether at home or out and about. Parents should know where their children are at all times.

We wish our nation’s mothers a wonderful Mother’s Day ❤🌸🌹🌺🌼
