In1989 Pieter J de Villiers in partnership with Pine Pienaar decided to start a Security company. During August of 1989 they decided on a logo for the company, which is still the company logo today, made up from the family crests “de Villiers & Pienaar.”
They also agree on the name P & P Security. The letterheads, rubber-stamps and other documents were then printed accordingly. The uniform was Ro
yal Blue with yellow belt, black boots and beret. They recruit the necessary staff (Security Guards) and set out to canvass for potential clients. But before the business could start, Pienaar decided to withdraw from the partnership. Pieter then decided to carry on with the venture with the help of his wife Sheila. On 1st December 1989 he started out with thirteen guards and one client, namely Status Motors, then owned by Danie Paulis. The business, now running by Pieter en Sheila slowly develop and become larger. In 1991 they decided to register the company as P & P Sekuriteitkonsultsante Bk, trading as P & P Security with Sheila de Villiers as sole member. The company was also registered with the then Security Officers Board as a Security provider. Between 1989 and 1993 the business was run from their plot at Zwartkrans outside Krugersdorp, but in October 1993 the company moved to Chamdor, Krugersdorp where they are still operating from, today. In 1995 Pieter R de Villiers, Pieter and Sheila’s son, join the company as a Security Guard. In 1997 the company open it’s Armed Reaction Division, with its Emergency Control Center situated in Rant & Dal. The alarm installation and maintenance were done by a local company called Trifonics. Jacques C de Villiers (Son) joins the business in 1999 as a control room operator. In 2000 Pieter R was managing the Guard Division and Jacques the Emergency Control Center. In 2003 there was decided to start a training school. A company called Prysec CC was registered,
trading as P & P Security Academy. In May that year the construction of the School started on the Chamdor premises. The company started with their own Technical Division that year and during this time Pieter J de Villiers went into semi-retirement or as he called it “PIT” ( pensioner in training)
Pieter R de Villiers was appointed as Managing Director and Jacques head of the Emergency Control Room and Technical Division. In 2008............the training school was registered with SASETA
In 2010 the 21st year of the company’s existence, the Emergency Control Room moves to the new state of the act control room at the Chamdor premises bringing all operations together under one roof. A further development, called “Off-site CCTV monitoring” was launched in March that year. This will enable the P & P Security Emergency Control Room to monitor any site from in the control room itself and despatch an Armed Response Unit if necessary.
