I recently completed a key replacement service for a Chevrolet Utility vehicle where all keys were lost. The customer collected the vehicle from my premises and, a day later, found the lost keys. However, he reported that the odometer reading was not displayed. I requested him to bring the vehicle in for inspection, and today it was towed in with the immobilizer light flashing. Upon diagnosing the issue, I discovered a different BIN file in the cluster, suggesting that the attempt to write back the original key had been incorrectly executed. So it seems Mickey Mouse has a Chinese machine and 1 digit IQ. 😀

Either caused by a short circuit or as I suspect a 12v line tester. See a lot of damage like this.

Out in the rural area, Let me say, no amount of oil will unlock a damaged Ranger ignition. Its like a band aid on a broken leg, just wont work. Made a new key, removed barrel, replaced pins and vehicle is running once again.
