HOUSEBREAKING & THEFT SUSPECTS APPREHENDED โ UITKYK 24 ๐จ
29 May 2026 | 04:00 AM | Uitkyk 24
ACS Security Spartan responded to a housebreaking and theft incident involving stolen solar panels and batteries at a farm in Uitkyk 24.
Upon arrival, K9DTC and their K9 Unit were requested to assist with tracking the suspects. Information received from a vigilant community member indicated that the suspects had exited the farm and were being transported in a vehicle carrying the stolen solar panel.
Acting swiftly on the information, ACS Spartan's response vehicle pursued and successfully stopped the suspect vehicle on the Uitkyk Road. The driver was arrested on the scene, while three other suspects fled on foot.
K9 DTC's investigation team arrived and interviewed the arrested suspect, obtaining valuable information. The identities and addresses of all three fleeing suspects were established. With the assistance of the SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, K9 DTC proceeded to Mattafin, where a search was conducted at one suspect's residence.
During the search, a significant amount of stolen property was recovered. The recovered items have been linked to thefts and housebreaking cases in Uitkyk, Renosterkop, and The Rest area. These findings are believed to be connected to several ongoing cases dating back to early May 2026.
Further assistance was provided by Kobus from Tysec, who traced the vehicle registration through ANPR camera footage in The Rest (Casonia). By analysing entry and exit records, a pattern was established, linking the suspects and recovered property to additional theft cases in The Rest area.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to: โ
ACS Spartan Response Team and Theo Laas (A1) for their rapid response and successful arrest of the driver. โ
Kobus from Tysec for his outstanding assistance in tracing the vehicle and linking the suspects to multiple crime scenes. โ
K9 DTC and SAPS Crime Prevention Unit for their professional investigative work. โ
The community members of Uitkyk and Claremont for their vigilance, information sharing, and assistance throughout the operation.
All recovered property has been booked into the SAPS 13 system, and a case has been officially opened regarding the Uitkyk 24 incident.
Together, we continue to make our communities safer.
