SPEKBOOM CUTTINGS

Buy a Spekboom and enrich your garden/home and help fight climate change!

We can provide you with Spekboom cuttings at great prices. The cuttings are approximately 15 cm at R5 each. Order 50 or more cuttings with a 20% discount, i.e. R4 a cutting. Order 100 or more cuttings with a 50% discount, i.e. R2.50 a cutting. Courier can be arrange at buyer’s cost, such as Pudo or Postnet etc.

Every home should have a least 1 Spekboom. They can be grown outdoors or indoors and can even be made into bonsais. They can even be grown as a hedge due to their dense growth habit. They are very easy to propagate and these cuttings will grow very easily. They are edible, with a very high nutritional value. They are rich in Vitamin C (immune booster), manganese, cobalt and magnesium. They improve the quality of the air we breathe and help fight climate change.

Spekboom are an easy-going low maintenance succulent indigenous to South Africa. They are very hardy plants. They are drought tolerant and can reach ages of up to 200 years! And another bonus, if more were even needed, they are pet-friendly.

Aloe, aloe 👋

Come see our lovely available aloes, such as Krantz aloe, Short-leaved aloe, Coral aloe, Fence aloe etc.
These aloes are indigenous to South Africa (we have about 140 varieties in SA) and are drought resistant, so very water wise 😊 Their flowers would brighten up any garden and would attract wildlife (such as birds and bees).

HEALTH BENEFITS OF THE SPEKBOOM:

Spekboom is edible, with a very high nutritional value. It has a slightly lemony taste and the leaves are juicy.
Spekboom is rich in Vitamin C (immune booster), manganese, cobalt and magnesium. It can be used to treat ailments ....including heartburn, dehydration, exhaustion and heat stroke.
It improves the quality of the air we breathe and helps fight climate change.
Cultivation:
In order to propagate Spekboom, cut a small branch just below a node. Remove the bottom leaves and dip the end of the stem into hormone powder. Create a small hole in soil and plant the stem. New roots will form on the stems within 3-4 weeks. Plant the stems in the desired locations and fill the holes with soil. Water the stems well to ensure that the roots settle. Spekboom grows best over a period of three years or greater and can reach ages of up to a 100 years!

Good day you all.
The nursery, and the plants will be well taken care of. I am fortunate to stay on a smallholding, so the maintenance and care is taking place on a daily basis. I really feel sorry for other nurseries that have to close down, with limited staff, and maintenance, and watering, which is so vital in our trade.
