How does different raw-material act when exposed?
I left material out for the elements to have a go at them, after a "4 seasons in one week" i checked on them and took notes!
-Melamine (on the left):
original thickness = 16mm, now 29mm and starting to flake!
-"i can get it cheaper" melaply (middle):
As can been seen on the image, contains mdf/supa-wood... which sucks water in like a vacuum and doubles in size. Automatically this material is a no-go when living in a humid environment! Absolutely would not recommend!
-Melaply (on the right)
Slightly more expensive but well worth investing in and a definite must when building bathroom or kitchen sink units!
Started off as 16mm, stayed 16mm... When it comes to wood, nothing is 100% waterproof, but this melaply definitely gets close to being just that!
