The Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has noted with concern the circulation of false and misleading information on various social media platforms claiming that a two-year-old Omphile Sethole has been found deceased.

She wishes to state that this information is untrue and the baby girl has not been found and the search for the missing toddler is ongoing.

Omphile disappeared from her home in Ga-Mabuela village in the early hours of Saturday 02 May 2026. Tinmyne Police opened cases of housebreaking at residential premises and kidnapping after the child’s 52 year-old grandmother discovered her missing at about 06:00 with an open window in the room. At the time of her disappearance, Omphile was wearing a pink jersey and black tights.

Lieutenant General Hadebe has strongly condemned the spread of misinformation and cautioned that it causes unnecessary distress to the family and undermines ongoing police efforts.

“The sharing of false reports on social media is not only irresponsible but also criminal. It creates panic and diverts public attention from the real facts. I urge all members of the public to refrain from posting or sharing unverified information about this sensitive case. Our team is working tirelessly to unmask this suspect of this senseless crime targeting our children” she said.

Police appeal to the public to continue assisting with the search and providing credible information that can lead to the safe return of Omphile to her family.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Omphile Sethole is urgently requested to contact the Investigating Officer Sergeant Moshe Mashaba on 082 319 9448 or number on 08600 10111 or nearest police station or .

A chilling dashcam video of a truck hijacking in Delmas,
Mpumalanga, has surfaced after a driver was attacked by three men he had picked up on Wednesday night.

The footage shows the suspects travelling inside the truck cab before suddenly turning violent.

One attacker grabs the driver from behind while another attempts to take control of the steering wheel.

Truck hijackings involving fake hitchhikers or stranded passengers remain a common tactic used by criminal syndicates targeting freight vehicles.

Suspects often wait for isolated stretches of road before overpowering drivers and hijacking the truck.

Despite company policies banning passengers, some drivers still take the risk out of sympathy or for extra cash,
a decision that can quickly turn deadly.

Ramagatsi Isaac Molefi (41)

Police in Klerksdorp, North West, are appealing to the public for assistance in locating 41-year-old Ramagatsi Isaac Molefi, also known as Mazaza, who is wanted in connection with an ATM fraud syndicate.

Molefi is alleged to be part of a group that targets bank clients at ATMs by distracting them and stealing their bank cards, which are then used to withdraw cash.

He was previously arrested and appeared in court, where he was granted bail, but failed to return to the Klerksdorp Regional Court last week.

Authorities confirmed that Molefi has a history of theft-related offences, with convictions dating back to 2019, raising concerns about repeat criminal activity.

Police are urging anyone with information that could assist in tracking him down to come forward. Members of the public can contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Connie Nepgen, the Klerksdorp Detectives, or the branch commander. Anonymous tips can also be submitted via the MySAPS app or by calling Crime Stop.

The police stress that community cooperation is critical in ensuring Molefi is located and brought back before court.
