The faces behind DMV Interior Design 🀩

While many of our projects are brought to life through the creative vision and day-to-day leadership of Mia Vincent, DMV Interior Design is guided by a team whose strengths complement one another behind the scenes and on the ground.

Mia leads the studio, driving projects from concept through to completion, working closely with clients, consultants, suppliers, and contractors to ensure every detail comes together seamlessly. Her passion for design, people, and creating meaningful spaces sits at the heart of everything we do.

Supporting the business behind the scenes are Neal Fisher and Dal Venables, who bring years of experience in architecture, business strategy, project delivery, and the built environment. While their involvement may be less visible on a daily basis, their guidance, mentorship, and strategic oversight help shape the direction and growth of DMV Interior Design.

Together, the trio combines creativity, technical expertise, business acumen, and a shared commitment to delivering spaces that are not only beautiful, but purposeful, functional, and deeply connected to the people who use them.

At DMV Interior Design, we believe great design is never the result of one person. It's the product of collaboration, experience, and a team working together to make it happen.

At DMV Interior Design, our approach to residential interiors goes far beyond creating spaces that are simply beautiful. While aesthetics always remain important, the true intention behind every space is to create a feeling. A home should evoke emotion. It should shift the way you experience daily life, influence how you move through a space, and ultimately leave you feeling better.

When designing a space, we often ask ourselves one simple question... can you close your eyes and truly imagine yourself living here? Can you feel the warmth of the morning light entering the room, the calmness of the material palette, the atmosphere created through texture, volume and light? The goal is always to create interiors that feel emotionally connected to the people who inhabit them.

This farmhouse project was carefully designed around warmth, comfort, calmness, and connection. Every material and spatial decision was considered not only for how it looks, but for how it makes you feel. The result is a home that feels lived in before it is even occupied. A space that encourages slowing down, gathering, reconnecting, and simply being present within the environment around you.

Beautiful interiors should never only be seen.
They should be felt.

Why every office needs a touch of green. 🌿

Adding greenery to a space is not just about aesthetics. It is about how a space makes people feel.

Workspaces are often filled with hard finishes, technology, artificial lighting, and constant movement. Introducing natural elements helps soften the environment and create a sense of balance within the space. Plants bring warmth, texture, and visual relief into corporate interiors, while also helping spaces feel calmer and more welcoming for both staff and clients.

But the key is intentional integration.

Too little greenery can feel insignificant. Too much and the space quickly becomes cluttered. Placement, scale, and proportion all play an important role. Feature planting can help anchor larger spaces, while smaller touches can soften individual work areas and subtly define zones within open plan environments.

The goal is not simply to add plants, but to incorporate greenery in a way that feels connected to the overall design of the space. Because good interior design is not only about how a space looks. It is about how it makes people feel.

Thinking about bringing life into your workspace? We can help you get the balance right.

Bold decisions make for lasting impressions.
And the best spaces are never created by playing it safe.

At DMV Interior Design, we believe every interior holds untapped potential. Potential to feel warmer. To function smarter. To leave a stronger impression. To completely shift how people experience a space.

From material selections to lighting, textures, flow and detailing, we approach every project with intention. We push beyond the expected to create interiors that feel thought-out, refined, and connected to the people who use them.

Whether residential, commercial, or hospitality, we don’t just furnish spaces. We shape environments that speak, inspire, and quietly demand attention.

Because good design fills a room. Great design changes how it feels to be in it.πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

Floor finishes do far more than complete a space aesthetically. They play a key role in how people move through, experience, and understand an environment.

In workspace design, different floor finishes can be used to subtly guide traffic flow, distinguish between zones, and create a natural transition between collaborative, social, and focused spaces. A shift in material underfoot immediately signals a change in function without the need for walls or excessive signage.

At EDF Power Solutions new offices, softer carpeted areas help define quieter circulation routes and meeting spaces, while timber-look flooring introduces warmth and durability within more social and high traffic areas. The contrast between finishes creates a layered spatial experience, giving each area its own identity while still feeling connected as a whole.

Beyond function, material changes also create a tactile experience. Moving from one surface to another allows people to physically feel a transition between spaces, reinforcing thresholds and helping the workplace feel more intentional, intuitive, and engaging to navigate.

At DMV Interior Design, we believe the most effective spaces are often shaped by the details people experience without even realising it.

As we celebrate Worker’s Day, we’re taking a moment to pause and appreciate the people who sit at the heart of everything we do.

Behind every space is a team of individuals who bring care, creativity, and commitment into the process. It’s in the early ideas, the long hours, the problem solving, and the quiet attention to detail that the real work happens.

We’re incredibly grateful for a team that not only shows up, but a team that supports one another, takes pride in the work, and continues to shape spaces that truly work for the people who use them.

This is a small thank you to the people who make it all possible.πŸ₯‚

Happy Worker’s Day.

Your office layout might be killing productivity...

A beautiful office means nothing if it does not function well.

Layout is what determines how your space is actually used day to day. It shapes movement, communication, and how easily your team can shift between focused work and collaboration.

When it is not resolved properly, the signs show up quickly. People interrupt each other without meaning to. Quiet work becomes difficult. Meeting spaces are either overused or avoided. The space starts to feel frustrating, even if it looks good.

Good layout is about clarity.

Clear zoning creates structure within the space. Quiet areas that allow for uninterrupted focus. Collaborative zones that invite conversation and energy. Support spaces that sit in the background but keep everything running smoothly.

But it goes further than that.

Circulation needs to feel intuitive. Movement through the space should happen naturally, without forcing people to think about where they are going or how to get there. The transitions between spaces matter just as much as the spaces themselves.

Proportion and placement play a big role too. If everything is open, there is no control. If everything is enclosed, there is no connection. The balance is where a workspace begins to perform.

When layout is done well, it often goes unnoticed. The space simply works. People feel more focused, more comfortable, and more connected without quite knowing why. When it is not, you feel it every day.

If your workspace feels harder to use than it should be, it might be time to rethink the layout. Get in touch with us on [email protected] and let's develop something that speaks direct to your office and your needs.
