Magnum Alarms

Magnum Alarms We specify a correct system to suit your needs and living arrangements. We turn your home into a Castle and Not into a prison.

Allowing you full usage of your home and not trapped in your bedroom. Call us today for a solution to your security needs. Magnum Alarms & Cables was established in 1987 with the sole purpose of providing complete Electronic Security Solutions. We are still the only Electronic Security Service provider which specializes in providing warning of an attempt at burglary, before the burglars are inside

your premises. We believe in keeping the burglars outside the premises thus ensuring that possible harm to our clients is minimized as far as possible. Our motto is that money is replaceable, Lives Not, and it is to this end that we design our systems. We do not advocate the use of Infra-red detectors as the only means of detection, since these systems are basically only for the protection of your possessions and are largely ineffective at night when your family is at home, since they are mostly bypassed.

When the cold weather and rain set in, desperation can sometimes lead to criminal activity.

At approximately 23:30 on Thursday night, suspicious activity was detected by a Magnum Guard On-Site AI Camera. Our Control Room recognized the individual from footage captured earlier within the Heath Park Magnum Eyes Network and observed him approaching a parked vehicle at another residence.

Response was immediately dispatched, and footage was shared across the network groups. At the same time, the resident activated her panic alarm, but thanks to the camera network, officers were already en route.

Upon arrival, officers inspected the vehicle and, after extending their search, located the suspect hiding in the vehicle's boot. The suspect was removed, profiled, and handed over to SAPS for further investigation.

Another successful intervention made possible through proactive monitoring, connected technology, and rapid response.

What happens at your school after the bell rings to go home?

The Suspicious activity of the two young men moving through the school grounds of a Sanctor high school was flagged by our Magnum Guard on Site CCTV cameras this week.

Using the description and information given by the live-monitored footage, the Magnum Response team was able to track and find the two suspects.

The smart technology of the cameras proves once again the success from having all round “Guarding” protection with the Magnum Guard on Site cameras.

At 01:52 on Saturday morning, the Magnum Eyes on Site NHW cameras detected two suspicious suspects crawling around a vehicle parked on the front yard of a property in the Hillside area.

The suspicious activity immediately triggered the attention of the Magnum EYE, and Response was informed without delay.

Thanks to the live footage, a description of the suspects and their direction was given to the response officer, as they fled the premises and moved down the street.

Thanks to the swift coordination and rapid reaction between the Control Room team and Response team, the suspects were quickly located and escorted back to the property.

The admins of the Magnum Network WhatsApp Group assisted by providing the Control Room with the homeowner’s contact details, while members of the neighbourhood watch arrived on scene to support Response while awaiting SAPS.

The incident concluded successfully with both suspects being handed over to SAPS for further investigation.

Another example of how alert communities, advanced camera technology, and rapid response work together to help protect our neighbourhoods.

One man’s junk is another man’s treasure — and this proved true when the Magnum Alarms team followed up on footage flagged by the Magnum Guard on Site cameras of a man hiding something beneath this blue container.

Upon inspection, several hidden bags were discovered containing broken and discarded items that had been stashed away for safekeeping.

While the items may have been hidden successfully, the actions themselves were not hidden from our Guard on Site cameras.

Was hunger the real crime committed in this situation?

Earlier this week, the trespassing of a man on the property of a school in Korsten was detected after the Magnum Guard On Site cameras activated and alerted to his presence.

Upon inspection, it was discovered that the man had allegedly cut a hole in the fence and removed cabbages from the school’s feeding scheme garden.

No other damage to property or additional losses were reported.

Incidents like these remind us that while security systems protect property and ensure accountability, they also sometimes reveal the deeper realities faced within our communities.

On Wednesday night at approximately 20:05, a suspect jumped the wall of a church in Bethelsdorp.

Thanks to immediate alarm activation and the rapid response of our Magnum Guard on Site cameras, the suspect spent only 33 seconds on the premises before fleeing.

Our systems instantly alerted the Magnum team and keyholder, providing real-time visibility of the suspect entering, moving within, and exiting the property.

Due to this swift response, the suspect was unable to gain access to any buildings and only managed to take an old tyre from the yard.

The keyholder and Magnum response team attended the site and confirmed that no further losses or damage occurred.

Prevention is better than cure — and this is exactly why early detection matters.
