Love Requires Truth.
Many of us think of lying as something we do to other people.
But what happens when we lie to ourselves?
What happens when we break our own promises, create alternative stories, and slowly lose contact with reality?

In this sermon, I explore the relationship between love, truth, integrity, and self-deception.

If God is love, then perhaps love cannot exist without truth.
Can we claim to love our children while deceiving them?

Can we claim to love ourselves while repeatedly betraying our own word?

And in an age of AI-generated content, where reality itself is becoming harder to recognize, how do we stay connected to what is true?

These are my reflections.

The other day I went to court alone. A few years ago, the thought of standing in court terrified me.
Not because I was guilty. Because I did not understand the system.

There is a Setswana saying:
"Ditlamelwana tsa p**a di baakanngwa go sa le gale."
The containers for rain are prepared before the rain arrives.

Many people spend their time arguing about politics, the economy, and the future. Meanwhile, the future arrives whether we are ready or not.

This sermon explores preparation, responsibility, and local action.
The question is not whether opportunity will come.
The question is whether we will be ready when it arrives.

Everybody wants the photo.

Few want the climb.

We live in a world that advertises outcomes while hiding processes.

We see the harvest but not the planting.
We see the fruit but not the roots.
We see the judgment but not the years in court.

In this sermon Bra Peter explores a simple Setswana proverb:

"Ge o ja phoso, o e feleletse."

If you choose something, choose everything that comes with it.

The mountain comes with the climb.
The fruit comes with the tree.
The truth comes with discomfort.
Even rest comes with stillness.
