I was serious when I said that we will have bananas for sale! 😜😝🀩 At Checkers, they sell at around R20 per kg (At Woolies, it is almost double the price!). So, I think we will be selling these at R18 per kg. We are about to harvest the second bunch... If you want to buy a whole bunch (or two or three), we might give some discount.... πŸ˜‰

Black Nightshade. (In Afrikaans it is called "Nastergal"). I found a plant right at the back of my nursery (and thus protected from birds), and this time around I managed to harvest the juicy berries! πŸ₯° Usually one would make a jam from these, but I don't have enough, so I am going to save the seeds and hopefully grow myself a little patch next summer! 🀩
There are a few different varieties and I am not 100% sure which variety this is. I don't think it is Solanum retroflexum. I think it is between Solanum nigrum and Solanum scabrum... πŸ€”
Apparently it is called Umsobo in isiZulu and it is indigenous to Southern Africa (but some other varieties are also indigenous to Europe and Asia).
What I want to know is: What do you call this in YOUR language?

Radish is so easy to grow! And quite fast too! πŸ₯°

I sow a little patch of radish seed every 3 weeks, making sure I always have a steady supply. Sow your radish seed in well draining soil and in full sun and keep it moist. You can also thin it out a bit when it gets to about 5 cm high.
Did you know that you can also eat the leaves?
If I have too many, I like to pickle them. Sooooo tasty!

I just LOVE growing these Witsa beans! πŸ₯°
They are so easy to grow and they produce like crazy! 🀩
This is my first harvest for the season and there are many more to come! This year, I am really going to try and actually weigh every harvest. I am curios to see how many kilograms of beans can be grown from this one trellis.
(I will make a video of these beans for you in a bit....) πŸ˜‰

I have plenty Rosemary plants in my garden and today I harvested some. There are soooo many different uses for Rosemary! I think I will start by drying and grinding some for my spice bottles, maybe also some for my shampoo! (Maybe I will even package some to sell...) πŸ˜‰

What a lovely, magical, golden harvest of Turmeric! 🀩 This is from our Serendipity Garden in Bryanston and I can't BELIEVE that we are still harvesting Brinjals in Jo'burg in yhe middle of winter! Wow! 😍 (The green, spiky fruit is called African cucumber. Super easy to grow! As a matter of fact, it can be quite invasive! But we love it and by now it just pops up in most of our gardens in summer). πŸ˜‰πŸ˜Š
