One thing I have noticed about our villages is that there is a huge gap between professional services and everyday practical skills.

We need people who know how to start and maintain productive gardens, plant orchards, and help families grow their own food. We need people who understand chickens, sheep, goats, and livestock well enough to help new owners avoid costly mistakes. I lost 14 chicks because the people looking after them simply didn't know what they needed to survive and thrive.

We need trained community helpers who can do wellness checks on the elderly, support new mothers, assist families after births, and provide practical guidance that has always existed in our communities. Not everyone needs to be a veterinarian, nurse, or agricultural specialist. There is room for skilled people who have knowledge, experience, and the ability to help others with the basics.

Imagine being able to call someone to help establish a vegetable garden, check on newborn lambs, advise on raising chicks, plant fruit trees, or make sure an elderly neighbor is doing okay.

These are the kinds of village-based services that create jobs, preserve knowledge, and strengthen communities. Sometimes development is not just about building roads and houses. It is also about building a network of people who know things and are willing to help others succeed.

Perhaps the future of our villages lies not only in what we build, but in the skills we pass on and the services we create for one another. πŸŒ±πŸ‘πŸ“πŸŒ³β€οΈ
