We’d really love to hear your thoughts...
Many of you have followed our story from 2020 when we started the business during the pandemic. You've been with us through the highs and lows, and that's why your opinion matters to us.
We’ve recently been experimenting with AI-generated videos in some of our paid social media adverts as a way to introduce more people to our sleep products.
One of the reasons is cost.
Commissioning short-form video content can be very expensive for a small business — especially when creator fees are high and we also need to provide our premium products to them for free to film the content. We don’t sell low-cost items; our wool duvets are a significant investment for us to produce and send out for nothing, and to still pay a fee for the videos.
That said, we’ve also heard strong feedback from some of our community. Some followers have told us they absolutely hate the use of AI in our marketing, some have said they would never buy from a brand that uses it, and a few have even told us they are cancelling their orders because of the AI videos. Apparently our marketing is "Temu-style"...
As a small business, that feedback matters deeply to us.
So we’d love to ask: how do you feel about brands like ours using AI-generated videos in social media advertising?
Would you prefer us to avoid it completely, or are you comfortable with it if it helps us share our products in a more affordable way?
Please share your thoughts in the comments — kindly and honestly. We’re listening, and your feedback will help guide how we communicate going forward.
Thank you for supporting our little Karoo business
