INCIDENT SUMMARY
On 08 September 2026 at approximately 12:30pm, MGN Reaction Officers, while conducting routine patrol duties in the Garankuwa Zone 15 area, identified a suspicious white Toyota Corolla Cross bearing registration ** 90 **GP.
The officers conducted an inspection of the vehicle and, upon verification, established that the vehicle had been reported stolen.
Further inspection revealed that the vehicle had already been stripped of several parts, indicating that it had been targeted for the removal of components.
SAPS INVOLVEMENT
Following the successful recovery and confirmation that the vehicle was stolen, SAPS was contacted by the MGN Security officers.
SAPS members subsequently attended to the recovered vehicle and took over the matter for further investigation and the necessary legal procedures.
It is important to note that this was not a joint operation with SAPS. The vehicle was located and recovered by MGN Security personnel during their patrol, after which SAPS was contacted to attend to the recovered stolen vehicle.
OUTCOME
The stolen Toyota Corolla Cross was successfully located and recovered by MGN Security.
The vehicle was found in a stripped condition and was handed over to the relevant SAPS members for further investigation and processing.
CONCLUSION
