They survived the kiln! Our adorable penguin family has officially finished their first firing, and the decorating stage. This is where we bring out their unique personalities with hand-painted details, textures, and glazes before they head back into the fire for their final glaze firing.

Lately, my days have been a beautiful blur of fabric swatches, spatial layouts, and site visits. I’ve been working closely with some incredible clients to transform their houses into true homes that tell their stories. We recently undertook a wonderful new creative at the studio: bringing a whole penguin family to life out of raw clay! Beautiful pottery is a true labour of love. The detailed clay work alone takes about 4 days of dedicated sculpting and shaping to get right. After that, they still have to go through the intense firing process and careful decorating before they are officially ready to face the world. They are currently in the works, so keep a close eye on our page for the next part of this story to see how they turn out!
