To put that massive figure into perspective, it is roughly equivalent to the weight of 100 fully grown elephants floating effortlessly through the sky. You might wonder how such an immense weight manages to defy gravity without crashing down, but the secret lies in the fact that this staggering mass is spread out across a vast, expansive volume of the atmosphere, making the cloud appear far lighter than its true physical heft.
The physics behind this atmospheric marvel is equally fascinating, relying on the delicate balance of density. Although the cloud is composed of billions of tiny water droplets and ice crystals, they are dispersed so thinly throughout the air that the overall density of the cloud remains lower than that of the surrounding dry air.
