From the Eden Aeonium collection — a line admired by collectors for its rich, shifting pigmentation and refined form.
‘Chi Xia Fei’ (赤霞飞) translates to “Flying Red Clouds,” an almost poetic blueprint of its appearance. Under bright light, the rosettes blush into deep crimson tones that seem to hover above their green centres, like colour caught mid-flight.
The genus name Aeonium traces back to the Ancient Greek aiōnios, meaning “everlasting” — a nod to the plant’s enduring rosette structure and timeless symmetry.
While its wild relatives originate from the Canary Islands, this Eden cultivar was carefully developed to amplify those dramatic seasonal colour transitions, especially as it moves between active growth and summer dormancy.
