⚠Incident Report⚠

PEDESTRIAN STRUCK BY TRUCK TYRE ON N2

On Sunday, 21/07/2024 at approximately 10:43, we received a call from an Umkomaas Resident requesting assistance on the N2 South just before Umkomaas as she had just stopped at a PVA.

START RESCUE First Responder as well as TS1 were dispatched to render assistance. Upon arrival it was established that A truck had lost its tyre while travelling on the N2 and the Tyre had struck a pedestrian walking on the side of the highway.

The Patient was assessed by First Responders and the patient was declared P1. Netcare 911 and EMRS were contacted as the patient needed immediate medical intervention. Netcare 911 arrived on scene and stabilised the patient, followed a short while later by EMRS who took over from Netcare 911 to transport the patient. RTI and SAPS also were in attendance.

The patient was transported to GJ Crooks Hospital.

On 2024/07/23 Bravo Six Security relayed important information to Umkomaas SAPS Detectives of a Hijacked white Isuzu bakkie with reg number NUZ38398 which was reported as per Umkomaas cas113/07/2024. The said vehicle was spotted in the Roseneath area and two Bravo males were seen in the vehicle heading towards Moodleys spar in Roseneath. Quick action by members resulted in the vehicle being spotted in the parking of Moodleys Spar . The occupants went into Spar. Members kept observation and after some time the suspects arrived and jumped into the vehicle. A take down was conducted and both the suspects were arrested. Upon good detective work, it was established that a false case was opened by the complainant. All evidence and statements were obtained and the owner, an African female was arrested and charged for defeating the ends of justice. It was established that she could not pay for the said vehicle, she proceeded to sell the vehicle and then report it Hijacked while the Bank was looking for the vehicle to reposess.

Vehicle was reported hijacked as per Umkomaas cas 113/07/2024.

Scenario:

Information was relayed by Bravo Six Security regarding a vehicle sought wanted for a hijacking case which was spotted in the Umkomaas area.

Shortly afterwards, Umkomaas SAPS spotted the wanted vehicle and attempted to pull it over, which led to a pursuit, whereby all abovementioned role-players responded to render assistance.

The vehicle was successfully intercepted in the Ilfracombe area, whereby two suspects alighted from the motor vehicle.

One suspect was successfully apprehended on foot, and the second suspect was successfully apprehended by Umzinto SAPS K9 handler & patrol dog.

All necessary role-players attended the scene.

Both were charged accordingly.
