We stock seedlings, exotics, indigenous plants, aloes, succulents, fruit trees and much more. We have a selection of statues, pavers, bird baths and garden pots, and we also have some lovely garden accessories as well. We stock fertilisers, pesticides, fungicides and plant food. The Miracle Worker, Spekboom! 🌿

This week at Froggy Pond Nursery, we’re celebrating a South African icon: Spekboom (Portulacaria afra). Whether you call it Elephant’s Food, Porkbush, or the "Carbon Sponge," this succulent is a must-have for any water-wise garden.

Not only is it incredibly hardy and easy to grow, but Spekboom is also a superstar at sequestering carbon dioxide, helping us fight climate change one leaf at a tim🌱

Meet the Spekboom Family:

Think all Spekboom look the same? Think again! We have several distinct varieties in stock to suit every nook and cranny of your garden:

Standard (Green) Upright, bushy shrub. Privacy hedges or "edible" garden features.

Prostrata (Trailing) Low-growing, ground cover. Hanging baskets, rockeries, or spilling over walls.

Aurea (Yellow) Bright lime-to-yellow foliage. Adding a "pop" of color to high-sun areas.

Variegata Creamy white and green leaves. Decorative pots and small patio accents.
