One of the beautiful things happening at Bokmakierie at the moment is the growing Soil-to-Soul community.

What started as a shared love for plants, nature, and learning is slowly becoming a space for meaningful collaboration, regenerative thinking, and hands-in-the-soil connection 💚

Last Thursday’s gathering included indigenous seed planting for the BirdLife South Africa rehabilitation project, seed swopping, veggie harvesting, and nourishing food made from the garden itself.

We’re excited to see this learning circle continue to grow through the seasons.

Soil to Soul Garden Club outing to Forest Friends Urban Farm in Vredenburg 🌱
Louis guided us through their aquaponics system, thriving vegetable garden, and a beautifully intentional sacred garden space. It was inspiring to see how everything works in harmony.
We ended the morning with delicious coffee and a nourishing breakfast, all sourced straight from their organic garden.
A truly grounding and inspiring experience 🌿

What a beautiful morning at Bokmakierie!

We had the pleasure of hosting the Piketberg Garden Club, who joined us for a permaculture talk exploring how we can work with nature to create more resilient and abundant gardens. It’s always inspiring to spend time with people who share such a deep love for plants and the earth.

After the talk, Kokerboom Kaas spoiled everyone with a delicious light meal and a wonderful cheese tasting — the perfect way to end a morning of learning and connection.

And all of this on one of the hottest days on the West Coast this summer… a sizzling 40°C! ☀️ Thank you to everyone who braved the heat to join us.

Thank you to the Garden Club for visiting, and to Soil-to-Soul to and Kokerboom Kaas for helping create such a special gathering.

All our favourite things! Being creative in nature, meeting new and interesting friends and above all cheese, glorious CHEESE 🧀🧀 🧀

Join us at Kokerboom Deli for an afternoon of clay, creativity and good cheese. Lauren from Bloobird Ceramics will guide you as you design and create your own ceramic cheeseboard.

The experience includes a cheese tasting and a short demo on how to build a beautiful cheeseboard for your table.
