A New Place of Safety and Hope for Vulnerable Children and Women on the West Coast.
We are honored to share a glimpse of our latest project: a purpose-designed centre that will soon stand as a Place of Safety for vulnerable children and women in need of care, protection, and a fresh start.
Created in partnership with Siyabonga—an inspiring organisation whose team dedicates their lives and hearts to uplifting those most in need—and with the valued support of other companies who we cannot name due to NDAs but are proud to have on board, this project embodies a shared belief: that every person deserves to feel valued, supported, and safe.
Architecturally, the design celebrates light, openness, and renewal. Vibrant vertical fins in warm colours inspire optimism and courage, while the rhythmic succession of tall arched forms offers a sense of welcome and dignity. Expansive glass facades connect the interiors to the natural landscape, reminding all who enter that brighter futures are possible.
More than bricks and mortar, this centre is an architectural celebration of hope, resilience, and new beginnings. It stands as a testament to the power of thoughtfully designed spaces to restore confidence, nurture belonging, and unlock the potential in every person.
We look forward to seeing this vision come to life—a contemporary centre where Siyabonga can continue their remarkable work, and where countless lives will be transformed, uplifted, and inspired for generations to come. This project is a first of its kind on the West Coast, and we are proud to be part of creating a place that will bring lasting positive change to the communities we call home.
As always, this work reflects the personal belief of architect Heini van Niekerk and his motto: "Art is Architecture". Because great architecture isn’t only about buildings—it’s about creating spaces that touch hearts, inspire purpose, and change lives. Art make a difference!
