African Jacquard unites the French tradition of Jacquard weaving with the warm colours of Africa. It all started 4 years ago with a dream of Christine Daron, weaving beautiful kitchen and table linen with a taste of Africa. Our collections are both African and contemporary, appealing to locals and foreigners alike. Being a member of Proudly South Africa and having been chosen to participate in "10

0 Beautiful Things" (100% Design – Decorex JHB 2016), we pride ourselves in the high quality designs and fabric we have woven locally. Along with our own collection of 100% cotton tea towels, aprons, placemats, tablecloths and serviettes we are able to weave customised designs for our clients. To date we have worked with prestigious wine farms, boutiques, hotels and lodges in Southern Africa.

One of the things that drew me to African Jacquard's SeaCell & Linen Blanket was the material story behind it. SeaCell™ is an innovative fibre created from cellulose and seaweed, bringing an unexpected connection to the ocean into the home.

A beautiful example of how nature continues to inspire the things we live with every day.

As World Ocean Month continues, we’re exploring the sea not only as inspiration, but as a woven textile.

Our SeaCell & Linen Blanket is woven with an innovative fibre called SeaCell™️, which is created from cellulose and sustainably harvested seaweed. The result is a light, breathable layer with a soft, textural feel.

A woven reminder that the ocean is not a backdrop. It is a living world worth celebrating.
