THE 10 STEP PROCESS IN THE DESIGN YOUR HOUSE OR PROPERTY PROJECT

2. SITE CONFIRMATION: Send a copy of your Site Plan/ Stand and confirm stand boundaries
It is important to confirm early in the project:-
- whether the Client’s copy of their property drawing is accurate and we will cross check the boundaries with Surveyor Generals office/ Local Authority (City Council)
- we will also check the planning requirements in your Area and any special requirements that might affect your foundation design and allowed developments (Zoning requirements, Cluster Houses, Flats and Commercial consent in the area you want to build)
3. SITE VISIT: Affordable Homes will then do a SITE VISIT to your stand to confirm the exact conditions on site which are important to ensure soil conditions, slope and any special conditions are noted in your design.
**This is a critical step in extensions and renovation projects in order to measure the existing house/building
4. SKETCH DESIGN: Affordable Homes Architects will then give you 3 options of the sketch design proposal that suite your requirements.
5. CLIENT APPROVAL: Client will review the design proposals, choose the most appropriate one to their needs and give their written consent/confirmation for Affordable Homes design team to proceed.
6. FINAL DESIGN DRAWINGS: Affordable Homes Architects will then take in the Client’s comments and make the necessary changes and adjustment in the Final Design drawings. We will keep updating the client on the changes made to the design.
7. FINAL DESIGN: Affordable Homes Architects will then send the final designs to the client for review, signing off and approval.
8. COUNCIL SUBMISSION: Affordable Homes will then Print and make copies of the Council Submission drawings and prepare the submission forms (to be signed by the client) and submit to the Local City Council for Approvals
9. COUNCIL APPROVAL: Affordable Homes will ensure approval of your building plans by making the necessary follow-ups on your building plans at City Council to make sure that everything is according to the Law.
10. HANDOVER: After obtaining approval for your plans, Affordable Homes will collect the copies of the approved plans and handover to you the Final Council approved drawings for your File. We will also keep a copy in our Client file for future retrieval and reference.
