Most of what makes reinforcing steel work is invisible once the concrete goes down.

Bar size, spacing, cover and lap lengths are all decided on the drawings, long before anything is tied.
If the schedule is read properly and the steel is cut and bent to match, the install is quick and the slab does what the engineer designed it to do.
If it is not, the problems show up on site, where they are slowest and dearest to fix.

So the quiet part of the job, getting the reo right before it leaves the yard, is the part that decides how the rest of it goes.
