The best work begins long before anything feels resolved.

The beginning of a project is probably the most exciting, but also the most exhausting part of what we do.

We live and breathe the idea. We obsess over it, change our minds, question things and, yes, argue over the details while we test each other’s thinking.

Then, slowly, the pieces start coming together.

It’s often a bit of a hold-your-breath stage, especially for our clients, who can’t see the full picture just yet. We can see where it’s going, but sometimes you just have to let the ideas unfold.

And then the separate parts begin to find their place.

That’s when everything starts to feel real.

There’s an instinct to brighten a space that doesn’t have an abundance of natural light. Lighter walls, lighter finishes, more white.

But sometimes we prefer to do the opposite.

Lean into the mood. Add depth, texture and warmth and let the room become what it naturally wants to be.

Not every space needs to feel light and bright to feel beautiful.

TRIO. There’s a quiet confidence in a restrained palette. Rich walnut, soft bouclé, handmade tile, rattan and bronze each have a distinct character, but together they create something that feels warm, considered and effortless.

Ok, it’s unpopular opinion time! Matching every single metal finish in a room? Not as en pointe as you think it is. Mixed metals done right are intentional. Everything matchy matchy can date much quicker.

Arches just everywhere? Sure. If it’s framing, softening a hard line, intentional. But if it’s used because arches are having a moment — that’s the first thing that’ll look passe in 5 years.

And colour. Everyone wants “the colour of the year.” But your home isn’t a trend report. Pick what suits your light, your location, your actual life — not what’s trending on Pinterest this month.

Design that lasts isn’t at all about keeping up, but about knowing what you actually like.
