Renovations often reveal challenges that cannot be fully understood until work begins.

This project involved an existing structure, complex engineering considerations and important parts of the original home that the owners wanted to retain. Close collaboration between the clients, designer, builder and engineer helped us respond carefully as new information emerged.

Bringing the right people into the conversation early can create a smoother, more considered design process.

Thinking about renovating an older home? You do not need to have all the answers before reaching out. That is what the design process is for.

Feeling heard is such an important part of the design process, especially when a home needs to reflect more than one person's priorities.

For this Coongulla renovation, I took the time to understand what mattered to both clients, explain the options and help them work through the decisions together.

The result is a home that respects its history while creating more space, comfort and flexibility for family life.

Planning a renovation and not sure how all your ideas will come together? Send us a message. You don’t need to have everything resolved before we talk.

Project Chas is about downsizing with intention and creating a home that supports the years ahead.

The clients wanted to make this move while they could do it together, creating new memories and a strong connection to their community in Gippsland. The design also considers how the home can remain comfortable and accessible as they age.

One of the most important decisions was placing the master bedroom at the front of the home, where it looks out over the beautiful garden. It was a change to the original plan, but it has become one of the features they love most.

I love projects like this because good design is about more than the floor plan. It's about listening, problem-solving and creating a home that genuinely supports the people living in it.

Love watching this build take shape, these clients are in trusted hands with

Winter can be a harsh reminder that our homes may not be performing as well as they should. Now that we’ve moved into Spring, it’s a great time to plan ahead , because the improvements you make now can help keep your home more comfortable through the heat of Summer too. When the temperature drop

Restoring a character home is one of the most rewarding things I do - and one of the most misunderstood. Swipe through.

There's a version of heritage renovation that strips everything back to bare walls and replaces it with something generic. I'm not interested in that.

The homes I love working on have something worth saving - original joinery, period windows, 12-foot ceilings, verandahs that actually work with the Gippsland climate. My job is to figure out how to make them perform for modern life without losing what makes them special.

It's not always easy. Many of Gippsland's older homes were designed for a different era - and sometimes a completely different climate. Getting the energy efficiency right, the orientation, the connection between old and new... that takes experience and a genuine interest in the problem.

If you've got a character home you're not sure what to do with - I'd love to hear about it.

The projects that are right up our alley? Custom-designed homes with character and a problem to solve.

We have plenty of experience working with character homes, particularly renovations, extensions and homesteads. We also love exploring how existing homes can be retrofitted to become more energy efficient.

If you’re planning a project that needs a thoughtful, custom approach, we’d love to hear about it.

When this family came to us, they'd been living in the home long enough to know exactly what wasn't working. Cold. Damp. Drafty. And a property full of views and sunlight that the existing layout just couldn't capture.

The brief was clear - make the extension feel like it always belonged. Gabled roofs, wraparound verandas, details that pay homage to the original, while finally making the home work for life on a functioning farm.

Follow along - we can't wait to share more about this project.
