Not our normal post…but a heartfelt one.
People often talk about “scaling” a business like it’s all exciting growth, but behind the scenes scaling also means change, all consuming pressure and staffing changes.
What people don’t always see is the reality behind business ownership and scaling.
The late nights, the broken sleep, the unhealthy habits like neglecting to eat all day and running off caffeine, the weekends that become workdays, the family time taken over by work conversations, the relationships you unintentionally neglect because there’s simply no time left to give. You become consumed by the business you’re trying so hard to build. Stress follows you everywhere. Even the good moments can feel clouded by responsibility.
Small business ownership can feel incredibly lonely at times. The “shiny” side of business ownership is often just a reflection of financial and personal sacrifice people never get to see.
But amongst all the chaos, one of the greatest gifts this journey gives you is PEOPLE. The relationships built during the hard seasons. The laughs in the office. The loyalty shown during the stressful moments. The team members who become more like family.
And when you receive messages like this from staff, it reminds you that maybe through all the stress, sleepless nights and sacrifices, you’ve still managed to build something that truly mattered to people.
That part is what truly matters 🤍
