I (Kelly) want to take a little moment to step in personally and share publicly because i think everyone needs to know how freaking amazing the people are who made OUR new studio happen!
A week in from opening the doors (and still only 80% finished).. I cannot believe the f**** amazing transformation of an "almost shell" 86sqm!
In 1 month (unbelievable).. we have demolished, scraped, chiselled, scrubbed washed, plumbed, stripped, lined, electrically re-wired, acid washed, resin coated built, fitted, painted, built, decorated, styled, advertised AND worked... that is just the bits you actually see...
Behind the scenes is the design, planning, measuring, sourcing, scheduling, financial analysis, funding, follow up, rubbish removal, organisation, communication, staff management, payroll, crisis management, contingency management and so on!
We can also add while all this is happening, we still run a 7 day a week, 12 hour a day business with less staff load!
No wonder I am tired! 🤣
There is absolutely no way i could do this phenomenal feat by myself, let alone the absolute stunning result!
Firstly obviously my fab husband Michael (not on socials), who was absolutely itching to get stuck in where ever he could, and did, but was working his butt of to triple make sure we had the funds to make this studio spectacular.
Second, Kasey, (not connected my personal socials but I tell her every day), this phenomenal human walked in our studio door in her school uniform a couple of years ago because she was finishing year 12 and didn't know were she fit.... I can tell you... this young woman fits where ever she sets her mind! She started with us sweeping floors and filling paint containers, 2 years on she can not only build the studio, she can run and manage it!
Leo Electrical - our timeline was tight (my fault), and our brief was vague but specific....... you may not understand that but Liam and his team did! Every single point hit the mark, on time, and they worked so easily with a fit out novice like me! Plus they put up with filming tiktoks in and around them!
Matty's Plumbing .. Again a tradie who listened to an old woman talk about all things she didn't know but made it make sense and work in an absolute tight time frame.... you really can't ask for more!!!
Sue Lemmon - if you are on my social feed then most of you know this woman! Legend , star, friend.... honestly one of few people life who genuinely offers to help and then turns up with the mcgyver kit and boots to actually help! Suey really had not much detail about what she was getting in to until she was circular saw deep, hammer drill wide and super nail glue stuck! Thank God for "Free Friday's "... thats a friend thing isn't it?..... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🍾🍾
Mentions absolutely have to go to Marcus Higgins , whittle and Mak Morrison . Without these 3 guys.... whether it was rubbish runs, supplies pick ups, installs, flat packing and so many other jobs (shout out to mak and his tiktok and filming skills).
When Kasey and I needed to step away to run workshops, these 3 stepped up!
Susie Muir Artist / Susie Muir ... Ithis amazing women is always like my saviour! I would not have been able to operate our crazy schedule without another crazy artist to pick up the slack! Whether it is painting the walls of our new home or painting creativity in people's minds as i throw workshops at her.... this is my ride or die!.... can you just stop living the dream travelling though!
Anyway... this is a long post and was just meant as a little reminder of an achievement but has completely humbled me to think all this happened in one month because I'm surrounded by amazing people!
