Nothing is placed once.

A designer’s eye is all about adjusting, refining and balancing. Tam and Mel worked through every detail of our North Beach kitchen before the shoot with Finesse, and yes, the salt and pepper shakers moved more than once.

Tomorrow night we’re at the Hart and Co Kitchen Awards, celebrating alongside and all the 2026 finalists.

A soft greige palette runs through the stone, while curved green Inax tiles bring a hint of colour.

Their glossy, textured finish catches the light differently at every angle. Brushed nickel tapware and a freestanding bath keep it calm and refined.

THE KITCHEN // NORTH BEACH RESIDENCE

This North Beach kitchen was designed to work just as beautifully as it looks.

Honed Celeste Dolomite wraps the sculptural island and rangehood, with its soft green veining picked up in the mosaic splashback and warmed by Fango veneer.

Behind the polished exterior, every detail has been considered for real life — integrated appliances, easy-access drawer storage and a concealed scullery keep the main kitchen calm, uncluttered and ready for everything from busy family mornings to entertaining.

Layered lighting adds warmth and depth, while the natural materials give the space a timelessness we love.
