A & H Seedling Starters

A & H Seedling Starters Hi we are Aidan and Hannah. We love gardening so we decided to start a seedling company to save money for us to travel to Paris one day.

Thanks for visiting our company!

Our seedlings spent today warming up since it was a little too chilly outside! We're hoping it will be nice and warm this weekend for our plant sale, Saturday, May 20th and Sunday, May 21st from 10am until 2pm. We hope we'll see you there! *we're located in the Tyandaga neighbourhood in Burlington. Please send us a message if you need our address

We've started hardening off all of our plants, so they'll be ready for you to take home in a few weeks on the long weekend. Hardening off means that the plants slowly get introduced to the outdoors.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all of your support these last few years! We hope you are excited about another gardening season. With spring just around the corner, we've been doing some planning and seed shopping getting ready for another season of A&H Seedling Starters. This year we are changing things up a bit. Instead of doing pre-online orders, we will be having a plant sale at our house on May 20th and 21st (the May long weekend). We will be selling our regular items, like tomatoes, flowers, and basil. We’re hoping to have some additional items, such as cucumbers, eggplant and more! Are you hoping to see a certain type of plant or a specific variety you have enjoyed? We would love your feedback as we get planting over the next few weeks! Keep an eye on our page over the next few months. We'll be sharing pictures and information about what you can expect to see at our sale in May!

If you're still looking for any plants this year, check out the plant sale at St. Christopher's tomorrow morning. We donated all of our extra tomato seedlings (including some fun varieties we didnt have for sale!) to this great cause and will be there for a bit to help with the selling :)

Don't forget about our plant sale, happening this Saturday, May 28th from 8am - 12pm in partnership with Halton Food! Hope to see you there!

**We are still seeking volunteers for Saturday - please email [email protected] for more info!**

Thanks everyone that ordered from us this year! It was great meeting lots of you today and sharing about our plants with you. Just a reminder that we recommend waiting until night time temperatures are above 10°c before planting your tomatoes, peppers and eggplant. Peppers especially don't like being cold and chilly weather can cause them to get stunted. We hope everyone has a great growing season!

The next two nights are going to be chilly. If you've planted frost tender plants, make sure you cover them up to protect them. Hanna from Matchbox Garden & Seed company (a favourite local seed company of ours!) has some great advice.

***UPDATE: Wow! Thanks everyone for supporting us this year! We're sold out of many items, but still have a good selection of larger tomatoes available and a few cherry tomatoes. We'll send a message to everyone that ordered later this week to confirm pick up times. Thanks again to everyone that has supported us!

We're excited to start our pre-sales of our seedlings that we've been working hard to grow! All of our plants are grown from seed using organic soil. Please send us a message to place an order :)

**If we are sold out of anything you're interested in, send us a message and we can add your name to a waitlist-we have some extra plants that we're growing, just in case something happens. If all of the plants are healthy, we should have some extras by pickup time :)**

We have tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and more. Please look at the attached photos to see our full list of seedlings available. You can pre-order your seedlings by messaging us and we will have them ready for you on the May 24 weekend to pick up from our house. We chose this weekend as it's usually safe for all of the warm weather plants to go outside into the garden.

If you would like your plants before then, please let us know but many of the plants shouldn't go outside before the risk of frost has passed completely. Plants that can go outside before the risk of frost has passed are kale, swiss chard, calendula and chamomile.

We're hoping to have a few other types of seedlings available to purchase when you pick up your plants. Based on your feedback, we're giving zucchini and cucumbers a try! We're hoping they'll workout, but don't want to do preorders just in case.

Thanks!
Aidan & Hannah
